As with May, much of June was spent working on Mull, and thankfully the weather held out to allow my client and me to go out on the Mull Charters' eagle trip.

This was included within a multiple day workshop I was running as a 1-to-1 with a new client, and we were lucky as Mull Charters rearranged their day to allow us to go out later on, instead of cancelling it because of bad weather in the morning.

It was still choppy and breezy, but the eagles certainly put on a show for us, and with some coaching and the skill they already possessed, my client was soon obtaining some cracking images of the birds, in what can only be described as quite challenging conditions, certainly where maintaining a steady balance was concerned.

Mostly I stood back to give my client a bit more room for taking shots, though it was a Photo 6, so there's a decent amount of space anyway. But when the male from Loch Ba (New Kids) started heading out, I figured he might do something dynamic, so lined up for the shot.

No one got anything of his first dive; it was unbelievably fast, but he missed the fish, so had to gain height to try again. Given how fast he'd been, I was a bit more ready.

The second dive wasn't quite as blistering, but still direct, and he took the fish this time, but I managed a few shots as he angled himself for the near vertical stooping dive down. And I like this one from the series.

Taken with a Canon R5 mk2 and RF100-500mm lens.
