The winter is already upon us, but back in October, Andy and I had already been up to the crested tit woods a couple of times, to check on the level of the peanut feeders, and to see how many stars were around.

It was nice to be up there with him, just the two of us setting up shots and seeing what we could get. He was enjoying the freedom of his bright f/2.8 400mm lens, while I was making do with my 100-500mm f/7.1 lens, and using a higher ISO.

The birds were on form as usual, and it didn't take us long to get them to perch on what we wanted, to get a lovely image, with a clean backdrop.
