September has been a lovely, varied month, with trips to Mull for work, and time spent around the Highlands with a dear friend. I really need to get my wildlife blog updated with our adventures of late...

The image of the month came from a calm morning guiding two clients out on Mull, when the rain had finally made way for some brighter weather, and we were enjoying the antics of a male otter, as he serenely made his way along the loch, close to the shore.

I positioned us ahead of where he was swimming, and lay down to get a lower angle, and tried to time the shots for when the otter broke through the surface, shaking the water off his head.

The sparkling seaweed in the foreground adds a bit of colour to what is an almost monochrome image.
