August was quite a varied month, with workshops both in the Highlands and also out on Mull. 

One set of images from Mull could have taken this spot, and were of an otter that had managed to get a rubber loop stuck around his torso, and the images and video of it attracted a lot of attention online. I've donated the images to organisations that work to help otters, as they have more impact than I do. Maybe it will help educate people about why marine litter is so bad for our wildlife.

The otter managed to free himself from it, possibly by biting through the rubber. Thankfully a happy ending to what could have been much worse.

But this month's image comes from a moment alone in the red squirrel hide, when I'd popped up there to check on the feeders, and then decided to watch for a while. One of the squirrels then put on quite a show, jumping several times to the platform to collect hazelnuts.

One image really amused me, and proved very popular online too. Hope it raises a smile for you!
